halloween

gotta love halloween. i wish it could last all year long. i have so much fun decorating, seeing how stores change their windows, and going out in costume. not to mention my birthday is the day before. i didn't see too many good scary movies come out during halloween, though. i was surprised about that. halloween is still a time of year when we as americans aren't pushed to buy, buy, buy! christmas has become such a consumerist holiday. i want to say, "bah humbug" every time i hear a christmas song. 

on a lighter note, jared padalecki is going to be in the new Friday the 13th movie! i've recently gotten hooked on supernatural, and im marathon-ing season 1 right now. (thanks amber)

very interesting article. who says that two, consenting adults can't have sex? but, when there is dementia & alzheimer's involved, is it the duty of the nursing home to step in and set boundaries?

maryland herb festival

I went to the herb festival last weekend with my mom. It was so much fun. I even bought a jalapeño plant that should start flowering soon. I need to replant it in a larger pot & keep it away from my cat. I used to have one 2 summers ago, and he kept knocking it over & eating the leaves. Mmm- gotta love those jalapenerrrs!

Finding a bird's nest in one of my hanging baskets is bad enough (note: I hate when birds nest in my baskets, mainly because I nearly have my eyes pecked out every time I step outside), but take a look at their packing material -- old cigarette butts?
